WHAT IS INVISALIGN CLEAR ALIGNER THERAPY?
Invisalign utilizes a series of clear aligners to straighten teeth over time. It works by using gentle force to push teeth into their desired positions. Each set of aligner trays are worn for one to two weeks before they are switched out for the next set in the series. You’ll continue this process until your desired end results are achieved.
HOW TO KEEP YOUR CLEAR ALIGNERS CLEAN
Just like natural teeth collect bacteria and food particles, aligners gather harmful debris throughout the day. It’s critical to clean your aligners every time you take them out and rinse before putting back in to avoid discoloration of your aligners, bad breath, tooth decay, and infection during the teeth straightening process.
Brush your aligners in the morning, before bed, and anytime you remove them with a soft-bristled toothbrush to remove bacteria and debris. You should also brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in. Rinse your aligners only with lukewarm water. Use Invisalign cleaning crystals, a mild dish soap, or denture/retainer cleaner instead of toothpaste to avoid scratches. Keep them in their case when not in your mouth to avoid loss, damage, and getting them dirty.
